Dental pain doesn’t pick a convenient time. When your tooth cracks during dinner or your kid gets hit at the high school, you need help now. We provide same-day emergency care when something goes wrong.
We see patients from Western Avenue, Crossgates Mall, and throughout the Guilderland area. Contact us to book your treatment today.
We handle everything from chipped teeth to serious injuries:
Severe toothaches that keep you up at night, knocked-out teeth from sports accidents, infections with swelling and fever. Lost fillings, broken crowns, damaged bridges.
A dental abscess is one of the most serious problems we see. This infection forms at the tooth root and spreads fast. If you have swelling in your gums, face, or jaw along with fever, you need treatment immediately.
Other urgent situations include:
Time matters here. Find the tooth and hold it by the white part, never the root. Rinse it gently if it’s dirty, but don’t scrub. Try to put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk or saliva. Get here within 30 minutes for the best shot at saving it.
Rinse with warm water. Put a cold compress on your face to bring down swelling. Save any pieces you find and bring them with you. Don’t chew on that side until we look at it.
Rinse with warm salt water and floss around the tooth to clear any stuck food. You can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, but don’t put aspirin on your gums. If the pain doesn’t go away or gets worse, something deeper is wrong.
We’re just off Route 155 in Delmar, minutes from Guilderland, New York. From Crossgates Mall, take Western Avenue east and turn onto Normanskill Boulevard. We’re in a medical park across from Delaware Plaza with parking right out front.
Coming from Stuyvesant Plaza or Route 20? It’s a quick trip. From Altamont, take Route 146 east to Route 155 south. Call us if you need directions from your location.
We focus on relieving your pain first. After examining the problem area, we may take X-rays to get a clear picture of what’s going on below the gum line. Then we’ll walk you through what needs to happen next.
Sometimes a tooth can’t be saved and needs extraction. We’ll numb the area thoroughly, and sedation is available if you’re nervous. If the pulp is infected, root canal treatment might save the tooth. Missing crowns or fillings get replaced right away to protect the exposed tooth.
You’ll receive antibiotics if there’s infection and pain medication to keep you comfortable while healing.
